Our lab no longer uses the old designations of dental alloys, instead we use the Identalloy system.
Identalloy System:
High Noble = a Noble metal content greater than or equal to 60% or Gold content greater than or equal to 40%
Noble = a Noble metal content greater than or equal to 25%
Predominantly Base = a Noble metal content less than 25%
(where Noble metals are gold, palladium and platinum)
